
Britt Andrew Burns (b.1980) pursues a diverse composing career with an interest of not limiting himself to one genre. He mainly composes for orchestra, choirs, wind bands and guitar ensembles. He has also composed for film and advertisements.
Raised near Kansas City, Kansas, he spent the majority of his early life absorbed in creation of art and other creative endeavors. It wasn’t until his early teenage years that he would discover a passion for music, and began composing soon after.
Burns studied music composition, orchestration and counterpoint at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. His main composition teachers include Bryan Kip Haaheim , James Barnes and Forrest Pierce. Burns is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). His concert music is published by Imagine Music Publishing and by his own label, Britt Andrew Burns Music. After spending over a decade in ever-sunny Southern California, he now resides in the Kansas City area, where he lives with his wife and two sons.
